Lesson 1: Muscle Training
One of our first, and most important lessons starts with some training exercises to develop ‘muscle memory’ and fingering skills.
This is an essential part of progressing your guitar playing from conscious effort, to natural instinct. Learn these lessons well, and it will have an immediate impact on both your speed and fluidity.
Lesson 2: Techniques & Tricks
In order to create effortless lead solos, you need seamless coordination between your picking hand and fingering hand.
The best starting point is to get your Alternate Picking absolutely nailed, before moving onto more advanced techniques, such as Sweep Picking.
Knowing Your Scales
There are many scales which we work through and demonstrate, from the more familiar Major and Minor scales, to the more exotic Byzantine and Egyptian!
To start with we take a more detailed look at the well used Pentatonic Scale, and the ‘Blues’ variation. It’s amazing what difference a few extra notes can make! So if you’re into playing the Blues and developing Improvisation skills, then this is great starting point.
Co-ordination and Rhythm
When you're ready, we'll move onto the more advanced Sweep Picking, starting with just 3 string sweeps, before advancing to 4, 5, and finally all 6 strings.
The lessons, exercises and video demonstration, break down this testing technique into small chunks, to clearly show how to master your Sweeps.
